Played Kung Fury: Street Rage for the first time last night. Gotta say that it was worth the $2 bucks I spent on it. Kung Fury is strickly a beat'em up. There's a haphazard over the top story behind it but it doesn't really matter. The game is combo driven to up the game players score as much as possible. The more you connect the more bonuses you get. The more you miss the more bonuses you loose.
I am a little disappointed that this was not made to be a full on 2-D side scroller with a true plot. If there is then I haven't played it long enough. I played enough to score my personal best which was over 15,000 points last night. I even scored a handful of PlayStation trophies along the way. I really liked the theme of the game which really gave it the 80s cop movie feel. It definitely took me back to the days of the arcade where I never had any money to play. My dad never wanted to waste the money to allow me to indulge in the arcades. lol
The game has some unique and basic controls which is simply to punch and kick. That's it that's all. the left and right directional buttons allow you to make those moves. This is how you're able to move back and forth across the screen. There are characters that take one hit to kill, two hits, three and more. Your job is to make the best combo moves as possible without dying. You have three hearts. Once you've been hit three times you're down and out.
So far I like the game. I'll keep playing to improve my score. Take a look at my gameplay video from last night. If you like the game its available for Android, iOS, PC, and PS4
